A big thank you to all the parents and grandparents who made it along to our Open Afternoon last week and took the time to visit the classrooms, have a look around and discuss their child`s learning with them. It was a busy afternoon with around 50-75% attendance in most classes and 80% in Primary 1.
We are fortunate to have so many supportive parents working with us to help our pupils reach their full potential.
What an achievement for the Primary 6/7 football team!
In a knock-out football tournament at the High School, with 24 school teams taking part, the boys won the Summer Cup for the first time in 8 years. Knocking out Inshes in the quarter finals, they then beat Milton Athletics in the semi-finals, to go on and play North Kessock in the final. After a draw at full-time they went to penalties. In the end, Callum M. scored the winning goal for Muirtown. Well done boys! Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who coached and supported them to their victory.
Well done to all the boys and girls, from Primary 1, 2, 3 and 4, who represented the school at the Baillie Cup Athletics event at Queens Park recently.
They had fantastic team spirit, encouraging and supporting each other. The boys and girls confidently competed against many other schools, in individual and relay events, winning many medals. It`s great to see so many enthusiastic and dedicated young athletes in our school.
Wow! What an amazing sum!
A huge thank you to all the parents and children who contributed towards this. The money raised will go a long way towards some new ICT equipment, school trips, visiting workshops and enhancing school life for the pupils.
A huge thank you to all the parents and pupils who came along to our Maths workshop! It was wonderful to see around 80 parents come to the school to take part in Maths activities, led by pupils, and learn more about how their children learn Maths in school.
These are just a few comments from the very positive parent feedback, about what they enjoyed or learned:- “I thought the workshop was a great way of giving parents an idea of how to help their children with Maths at home, using number games, etc.. It also helps give parents a better understanding of what the children are doing in Maths.”
“...being able to interact with teachers and children. The wide variety of tools and educational material.” “…how clearly the pupils explained Maths and made the activities fun!”
What an amazing result for our Euro Quiz team! Alex, Ryan, Bobby and Elise took part, with teams from 31 other schools, in the Highland Heat of Euro Quiz at Millburn Academy. Our clever, confident team made us very proud by gaining 2nd equal place with Rosebank Primary. Well done! A big thank you also to Miss Williams and Finlay who have coached the team over the last few weeks.
